DIAMONDS Website Launch

6th May 2020

Greensplash is delighted to announce the launch of the DIAMONDS website for our long-standing client, Imperial College London.

This highly significant project is funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. The research funding in place, totalling €22.5 million over five years, will contribute to the development of a rapid and accurate test to diagnose severe illnesses, using personalised gene signatures. The test will streamline the diagnosis of conditions such as pneumonia, tuberculosis, sepsis, meningitis, and inflammatory and immune diseases. The multi-disciplinary team working on the project include a network of researchers and scientists from twenty-eight institutions, spanning across thirteen countries, all contributing to revolutionise the way healthcare can be delivered moving forward.

The greensplash team were immensely proud to design and develop the website for this project, drawing on extensive knowledge of medical/scientific website design and copywriting. With the branding for the project already provided by Imperial College London, the work began on the website design. The site was to have a clean and crisp feel throughout, using gradients of the brand colours to soften the pages and add interest. Working collaboratively with partners from the Diamonds Consortium, the style of imagery was explored to convey the important key message of ‘personalised medicine’ with a more futuristic view of this. The structure of the website was to be clear, making it easy to navigate for all users to learn more about the project.

Greensplash also completed copyediting for the website to ensure the language and tone that was used was consistent throughout, having been written by scientific partners from various countries. It was important that the language wasn’t too scientific and could be understood by users from all backgrounds who would visit the website.

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) was also completed to ensure that the new site performs well in search engines. Our SEO and copywriting experts worked together to ensure that the copy remained informative whilst meeting the criteria to perform well from an SEO perspective.
