Ichron has built a firm reputation for its unique, integrated approach to geosciences. Unlike other consultancies, Ichron offers specialist expertise across a number of geoscience disciplines. The fact that many members of staff have had research published in scientific journals is a boost to Ichron’s technical capability.
Project brief for web design
The team at Ichron wanted a new website which would reflect their international capability and multi-disciplinary approach.
Our starting point was to create a clean, geology-inspired visual style using images of rock formations which guide visitors to different service pages. All the imagery has a similar colour tone, creating a cohesive feel throughout the site. The ‘cleanliness’ of the design compliments the nature of Ichron’s work, making it an accessible site despite the necessarily technical nature of the content.
To illustrate Ichron’s international capability, we created an interactive world map which allows visitors to click on icons to gain more information about the projects undertaken in that region. It’s a simple yet effective tool that is more impactful than a straight-forward page of descriptive text.
The site was built using WordPress and we provided an easy-to-read user guide so that latest news and other content can be updated in-house on a regular basis.
