MP visits greensplash HQ
Our work experience design student Jessica Holden ended her placement with our team on a high last week, after local MP, Graham Evans made a visit to greensplash HQ.
The 22-year-old, who is currently studying Graphic Design at Chester University, joined us as an honorary member of our web and graphic design team for two weeks.
After completing her second year of University, Jessica was keen to spend her summer gaining as much industry experience as she could to further boost her knowledge and expertise. As part of her placement, Jessica spent her time helping us develop and design an e-learning training tool, under the guidance of our Director Andy, as well as further developing her design and software skills.
When asked about her time as part of the greensplash team, Jessica commented: “I felt very privileged that greensplash gave me the opportunity to work within their company.
“The team were very welcoming and friendly, and it was great to be treated as a designer rather than a student. It also helped to build my confidence and, more importantly, I can add this experience both to my portfolio and my CV.
“I would definitely recommend any student to also undertake a work experience placement in a local business, as I have been able to learn things that University simply can’t teach you.”
One of the highlights of Jessica’s work experience was meeting Weaver Vale MP Graham Evans, who kindly took the time to come and meet Jessica and hear about what she had learnt during her placement, as well as her experience of being part of a web and graphic design agency.
Greensplash Director Andy Dunn said: “It was a pleasure to have Jessica as part of our team, and during her time with us she has done an excellent job and fitted into the team immediately.
“As a business we are committed to developing young, local talent and Jessica was very capable in all the tasks she was asked to complete – we wish Jessica all the best for the future.
