This challenge will be made harder as both boys are under 16. They will need to train hard and get even fitter in just over a year, at the same time as keeping their GCSE school work in order and continuing to compete on the Topper race circuit. This challenge will be physically and mentally demanding. The boys attend Fallibroome High School a Specialist Arts College in Macclesfield, who also support Cancer Research as the school charity. Events will be run in conjunction with the school both in performing arts events and school participation events. Assisting the boys with the challenge are Rob Stott & Claire Purcell who run The National Marine Correspondence School. They will be co-ordinating the sailing side of the challenge with the sailors, planning the route looking at weather patterns, tides and shipping lanes etc... Once the boys have planned their route they will have completed the necessary criteria for them to have gained their Day Skipper qualification which can be awarded to them at 16.
