The Challenge
Wipe Easy was launched earlier this year to meet demand for high quality, easy care tablecloths. The company, which trades online, supplies strong and durable oilcloth or vinyl-covered products for home or commercial use.
Because they operate in a busy marketplace, owners Hilary and David Edwards have built a competitive edge by offering a particularly wide range of designs. They also offer a broad choice of accessories including table protectors, table weights and gifts.
Great customer care is a vital component – David and Hilary offer over-the-phone advice and support to customers as well as next-day despatch of most orders.
Project brief for e-commerce web design
Because Wipe Easy is an online business, David and Hilary knew their website had to work exceptionally hard. They approached a number of web design agencies and finally settled on greensplash because they felt confident we would pull out all the stops to make the project a success.
However, before any web development could begin, we needed to design a brand. David and Hilary believed most of their customers would be women, so they wanted a modern, feminine logo which would appeal to their target customer.
Once this was agreed, the website design followed suit. The site took the brand one step further and is fresh and bright with lots of white space with graphics in modern, vibrant colours. In places, it uses font in a handwriting style for a more casual, personal feel.
Critically, the site is easy to navigate. Customers can browse by style and pattern as well as occasion, and can filter according to colour and finish, making it easy for visitors to browse the extensive product range.
Finally, the site includes sample requests as well as buying guides and a You Tube video to help customers measure their tables correctly.
Hilary comments:
“greensplash certainly gave us fantastic value for money. The site is just what we had in mind – it looks good and is easy to use. We put in place a Google Adwords campaign to coincide with launch and within hours of going live it began to generate sales, so we’ve been extremely pleased.”
