We just love getting our teeth into any project. And it was certainly no different when we embarked on a large-scale new website design and build for both Progressive Solutions’ UK and North American websites. Progressive is the market leader in management information software to the merchant industry, with a presence in the UK, Ireland and North America. Both their new websites had to look slick and professional to reflect their market position.
Project brief for web design
As a software solutions specialist, the design of Progressive’s corporate website was very important. As well as needing to have the right ‘progressive’ look, a key goal for the project was to design a website that enabled Progressive Solutions to target different industry sectors, from professionals in large organisations to single site builders merchant owner-managers. By tailoring the website's content, the message could be targeted, which in turn would greatly enhance the website’s effectiveness as a promotional tool online and reflect the company’s modern approach and product/service offering.

The Progressive Solutions UK team were keen on a Web 2.0 feel, meaning that we needed to deliver a simple, clean and focused design for the new website, using only the necessary components to achieve the website’s goals. Design and development was closely aligned with the goal of targeting in mind. By using an appropriate site structure, each industry sector had access to its own sub-branded section.
For hassle-free updatability, we implemented an easy-to-use content management system – RefresherCMS, meaning that new product information, news updates and more, can all be added quickly and conveniently at the click of a mouse.

When it came to Progressive Solutions’ North American website, the team were keen that it accomplished two clear goals. Firstly as a highly effective promotional tool, and secondly as a reliable support channel for existing customers.
We decided to base the website’s design on the UK website in order to achieve brand consistency and also utilised the same easy to use content management system to make it simple for marketing teams across different sites to manage updates effectively.
